The Premiere 14-1s won the Gold Championship at the Xtreme Challenge Tournament on April 10th. The girls went 5-1 in pool play, finishing first and advancing to the Gold Quarterfinals. They swept Xtreme Blaze in the Quarterfinals and played and NFVB 14 Blue in the semis.

At the BNCC Meltdown, the Premiere 14-1s lost a heart breaker to the NFVB Blue team in the finals. However, Premiere avenged their loss by sweeping NFVB Blue in 2 straight sets. In the finals, Premiere would go on to face tourney host, Xtreme Flare, a team that they are very familiar with.

These 2 teams have met twice before – at Hocus Pocus where Flare beat Premiere (in deciding game) and in Albany at the Great Noreaster where Premiere defeated Flare 15-13 in a deciding 3rd game. This finals match would not disappoint, as all games were extremely close throughout. Premiere took game 1 but Xtreme bounced back to take

game 2. Premiere overcame an 11-13 deficit in game 3 and had their backs against the wall 13-14 but persevered to complete the comeback and win 16-14, capturing the Gold Championship!

On Saturday, March 26th, Premiere 16-1 traveled to the BNCC in Buffalo for the Thaw Tournament. Performing well in their first pool and coming in 1st, they were in the Gold Bracket, ready for some tougher competition. Beating NFVB 16 Blue 25-6, 25-16, Premiere moved up to the semi finals. There they faced Paradigm Rebellion who they beat 25-16, 25-15. The finals were exciting as the team had to play against Xtreme Heat who Premiere had beat and lost to earlier this season. Beating Heat in the first game 25-18, the team was confident going into game two. Xtreme Heat began the game aggressively with a 7-1 lead! Luckily, Premiere 16-1 was able to fight back and ended up winning 25-19 for another Gold Championship, two weekends in a row!

Four of the six Premiere teams will make the trip south to play in the Capitol Hill Classic on February 19-21. The tournament, which takes place at the downtown convention center in Washington, D.C. will be a highlight of the season. This three-day tournament boasts one of the largest fields in the country, topping out near 500 teams. Aside from great volleyball competition, players and families will have a great opportunity to spend some time in the nation’s capitol. Since teams only spend half of the day playing volleyball, there is a chance to visit monuments, enjoy museums, or do some downtown shopping on time off. Last year, the 18-1 team was able to make the trip, and they are excited to have three other teams joining them this year.

At this time, this is the only session scheduled, so please plan on attending if you are interested. Space is limited, so please email Coach Meyers at premierevbc@gmail.com to confirm that you will be attending. One parent per family is prefered to allow as many families to attend as possible. Question and answer time will be held at the end of the session. This is intended for the members of Premiere VBC only.

First Practice: Mizuno Volleyball and Team Pictures

The first practice at Roberts Wesleyan on Sunday, November 14th will be very important for the girls in the club.

First, we are very excited to have the Northeast Mizuno Volleyball Rep coming to our practice. He will be showing off everything that the girls are getting as a part of their uniform package, as well as Mizuno items that will be available for purchase. More importantly, he will have Mizuno shoes to purchase or order on site! Here is a chance to get a great pair of Mizuno shoes at a fraction of the retail cost. If the shoe you want isn’t available on site, he is prepared to place an order for your shoe that day and it will be shipped to you the following week. A size run of shoes will be available to ensure correct fit and feel. Payment needs to be done that day, directly to the Mizuno rep and should be done in cash or check.

Second, we need every girl to wear a black t-shirt to practice. At the beginning of practice, we will be taking pictures for the roster page of the new website. The pictures will be head shots but may contain shoulders as well, which is why we need everyone in a black t-shirt. If you have a Premiere shirt from the past, wear it!

Last, it is very important that everyone understands the policy at the newly renovated VAC at Roberts Wesleyan. There can be no wet shoes in the arena. There is a spot down the hall from the entrance where everyone can change into volleyball shoes before entering the arena. Thank you so much for your help in keeping the VAC in great shape!
